There were two posts which collectively suggest that John Thos. Thornton ( AKA John Thornton) and Sarah Elizabeth Ann Thornton were siblings and the children of Sabastian Thornton and Eliza Conyers.

Hi, I have a John Simmons m. about 1796? to Sarah Elizabeth Ann Thornton(b about 1772 on Barbados). There was also a John Simmons living in Craven, and Colleton S.C. and a Samuel Simmons in Berkley/St. Thomas, S.C. in 1734(plantation owners). I will check to see if our John Simmons is related to the S.C. one, or if he and Sarah went to S.C. Sarah's brother named his son John Simmons Thornton in 1800, so they must have respected him very much. Then in 1884 a son was named James Simmons Thornton. It may have been that John Simmons sent them money from his S.C. plantation, as was often done during tough Barbados times, such as after the hurricane of 1781. There is a plantation our family has a connection with in S.C. so I am looking into it. Please respond!

Was Sarah Elizabeth Ann Thornton (b.abt. 1772) the sister of John Thomas Thornton (b.1768), who was the husband of Agnes Roach (b.1767)?
We would like to know more about John and Sarah Elizabeth Ann Simmon's family, and compare notes on John Thomas and Agnes Thornton's family.
How is James Simmons Thornton connected to Sarah Elizabeth Ann Thornton?
