 | L-R: David Crittenden and Andy McKenzie The second picture is one of Andy, Everett’s father, and David. Andy was a locomotive engineer, When I was a little older than David, on my summer’s spent in Mulgrave, Andy was an engineer on the shunter (locomotive), that used to push passenger and freight cars onto the “Scotia” and then off the “Scotia”. The “Scotia” used to cross the Strait of Canso from Mulgrave to Port Hawkesbury on the Cape Breton side. I used to spend many hours on the “shunter” with Andy and his fireman. David is obviously enjoying the thrill of riding in a locomotive as well. This picture was taken in 1969. (At least one living or private individual is linked to this item - Details withheld.) |
