  	WILLIAM GRAY FRANCIS "BILL"--William Gray Francis "Bill"-- --Francis, William Gray “Bill”, age 91 of Dartmouth, passed away August 15, 2018 at Lewis Hall - Parkland at the Lakes, Dartmouth.--Born June 5, 1927 in Halifax, he was the son of the late William & Ethel (Gray) Francis. --He was employed with Maritime Tel & Tel Co. Ltd. for 35 years, retiring in 1982, after working in New Glasgow, Truro and Halifax. After retirement, he enjoyed summers with family & friends at their cottage in Parrsboro. He also enjoyed painting in the winter months.--He was an avid model railroader and was a member of the Maritime Federation of Model Railroaders. He loved to be constantly building and updating his various layouts at home. Because of his love of trains, they enjoyed several train trips to Vancouver to visit their daughter Carol.--Bill was a kind, loving, generous and genuine man who saw the good in everyone he met. He thoroughly loved and enjoyed being a grandfather and then in recent years, a great grandfather. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.--Bill is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Keitha (McKenzie); daughters, Carol (Paul) Smolen, North Vancouver; Susan (Ron) Ripley, Dartmouth; grandchildren Mike (Amanda Crosby) Ripley, Halifax and their sons, Thomas and Benjamin; Matt (Alison) Ripley, Dartmouth and their sons, Luke and Liam; sister in law, Jean (John) Anderson, Lake Echo; cousin, Kaye (Ken) Archibald, Charlottetown and several nieces and nephews.--He was predeceased by infant daughter Nancy; sisters, Jean (Ivan) Gittens and Dorothy (Ernest) Curry. Special thanks to the staff of Parkland at the Lakes for their wonderful care over the last four years.--Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held Friday, August 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth NS., with a reception to follow.
