To my daughter Margaret Gittens alias Margaret Gittens Stevenson my negros Charlotte and Monimia.
To my daughter Jane Gittens Moore my negros Betty a woman and Angela a boy.
To my late born child the mullato woman named Dutchess, or the money she ws purchased with.
Executors to sell and dispose of furniture and stuff that is in the possession of my brother Joseph Gittens and my beds and bedspreads and china at my brother Joseph Gittens and all my other effects and the money to be divided between my three children.
My jewels and plate together with the monies in the hand and possession of my Aunt Rebecca Gittens to be divided between my two daughters Margaret and Jane.
Appoint Alexander Stevenson Esq guardian of the body and estate of my daughter Margaret and William Moore Esq guardian of my other two children .

Note: I think in the text of this will Elizabeth has placed the surnames of her children's guardians, the underlined surnames, to reflect her wishes. I though initially that Margaret and Jane had married, but on reflection they would have been too young, and that's why there are appointed guardians. |
